We're having a hula hooping extravaganza!

Saturday, March 8th at 12:30-1:30 PM bring your little ones ages 6+ (families welcome!) to the library to see what amazing tricks the Boston Hoop Troop can do with their hoops and learn a little bit yourself.

Guaranteed to get you moving and smiling, this event should be tons of fun!

Medieval Mania!

Come to the library to learn about the Middle Ages--knights, swords, chivalry, and so much more! After the interactive presentation we will be making our own shields!

Please register in advance at http://www.eventkeeper.com/code/events.cfm?curOrg=NEWBURY and please bring a large cardboard circle for your shield (like the circle from a pizza box).

The Beantown Jumpers!

A big thank you to everyone who attended Jump, Hop, Play! and witnessed the talents of the Beantown Jumpers! For those of you who weren't able to come, here is a review of the events and some pictures.

"We attended the Beantown Jumpers exhibition on Saturday with our 5 year old granddaughter and 2 year old grandson and their parents.  Both children were glued with awe to the girls jumping movements (and continued to mimic them at home) and  we adults were impressed with the talent and commitment the girls demonstrated as well as the poise and cheerfulness they showed even if they missed a step.  What a wonderful activity for children physically and socially! Kudos to their coach for her tireless commitment to these girls."

Jump, Hop, Play! with the Beantown Jumpers

Did you make a New Year's resolution about health and fitness? Come learn about jump roping, one of the best exercises for you, at the library and maybe find some inspiration! 

We are so excited to host the Beantown Jumpers, a competitive double dutch team from the Boston area. The team consists of boys and girls in the 2nd grade through high school. They travel around Massachusetts performing to raise money to attend all of their competitions (at which they frequently win).

Snowflake Workshop

Celebrate the Library's new hours* by coming to a snowflake workshop. Learn to make dazzling 2D and 3D snowflakes then enjoy some delicious cookies and hot chocolate! It's a perfect way to begin the winter holiday season. :)

Ages 6 and up, families welcome.
