Jump, Hop, Play! with the Beantown Jumpers

Did you make a New Year's resolution about health and fitness? Come learn about jump roping, one of the best exercises for you, at the library and maybe find some inspiration! 

We are so excited to host the Beantown Jumpers, a competitive double dutch team from the Boston area. The team consists of boys and girls in the 2nd grade through high school. They travel around Massachusetts performing to raise money to attend all of their competitions (at which they frequently win).

Snowflake Workshop

Celebrate the Library's new hours* by coming to a snowflake workshop. Learn to make dazzling 2D and 3D snowflakes then enjoy some delicious cookies and hot chocolate! It's a perfect way to begin the winter holiday season. :)

Ages 6 and up, families welcome.

Thor.  Hercules.  Zeus.  While these figures from mythology are thousands of years old, you might be surprised to find that they share a lot more in common with comic and movie superstar attractions like Iron Man, Spider-Man, and Superman than you think! So join us as we discuss the pop culture phenomenon known as Super Heroes, from their not-so humble beginnings in the Golden Age of comics, the rise of Marvel in the Sixties, to their current incarnations today. With a special emphasis on The Mighty Thor and The Avengers! Learn about the history of Super Heroes such as Superman and Spider-Man and hear what they have in common with heroes from mythology including Mighty Thor and the Avengers. Then create your own comic strip!
